Resetting your Escape from Tarkov account is a big decision. It completely resets just about everything to do with your character, including experience, skills, quest progress, and obtained items.

Despite this, resetting your character is still very easy to do once you know how. We’ll run you through exactly how to reset your account down below, as well as everything you’ll lose in the process.

You can’t reset your Escape from Tarkov account from within the game itself. You’ll instead have to head to the official Escape from Tarkov website and login to your Tarkov account there.

Once logged in, click on the ‘Profile’ section on the right side of the page, then choose to ‘Reset the Game Profile’. Doing so will lead you to a screen which asks you to confirm your decision.

Make sure to look over what you’ll lose by resetting before you go through with it. Once you’re sure you want to reset, hit ‘Yes’ to complete the profile reset. You can reset your profile as many times as you want, though you’ll have to wait three weeks after a reset before you can do it again.

Resetting your Escape from Tarkov account will reset most forms of currency, experience, and progress that you’ve gained while playing Tarkov.

The following items and progression will be reset or lost upon resetting your account:

  • All experience earned
  • Player level
  • All skills
  • Standing with all traders
  • The contents of your stash, including money and items
  • All quest progress and completion

Among the reset items and experience, a few things still remain. Your nickname and friends list will thankfully remain intact, as will any items you started the game with.

These remaining items will vary depending on what edition of Escape from Tarkov you’ve purchased.

A fresh account means you will need to gear up from scratch. Here’s a quick reminder of what gear to look for in Escape from Tarkov:
