Fallout is a sandbox for action and chaos, but have you ever thought about cheating a little? Here are some Fallout 4 console commands to help… enhance your gameplay. They’re not all about making you invincible either.
Console commands are a fantastic way to change up your Fallout 4 experience. In order to open up the command console, you’ll need to press the tilde key. Yep, that’s the wiggly line that looks like this: ~
If this doesn’t work, the apostrophe key might. This is due to some differences in the nationality of the keyboard settings in relation to the keyboard layout.
How To Find ID Numbers For Items, Characters, and More.
For a few of the console commands below, you’ll need to know certain ID numbers in order to finish them. Below is how you can find them out.
In order to find the ID numbers required for a few of the console commands below, you’ll need to input the following…
Search For Items, Characters, Commands, and More ( help [item name] [0 to 4] )
You can use Page Up and Page Down to scroll, with input 0 searching for everything.
You can also find the ID number for an item or character by clicking on them when you have the command console open. This will save you time if you want to duplicate items and can make altering target statistics easier. All you’d need to do is type in the relevant command and click on the target you want to command.
Fallout 4 Console Commands – List Of Cheats
Below, I’m going to list a whole load of console commands that you can input. I’ll write out what the effect is followed by the actual console command in brackets. For example…
Spawn A Million Radroaches ( RadSpawn )
Unfortunately, that isn’t an actual cheat… But imagine. Anyway…
I’ll list general console commands below, alongside NPC commands and character alterations.
Activate God Mode ( tgm )
Remove All Collisions ( tcl )
Activate Free Camera ( tfc )
Activate Free Camera, And Freeze All Animations ( tfc 1 )
Toggles All Menus And UI ( tm )
This also toggles off the command console, so you’ll have to open the console and re-enter the command without visuals in order to get the UI back.
Reset Blood And Damage Effects ( csb )
Alter Current FOV ( fov [first-person FOV] [third-person FOV] )
Alter Time Speed ( set timescale to [insert number here] )
The default is 16, with 1 being real-time and 10,000 being… not real-time.
Teleport Player ( coc [cell id] )
For the console command above, you’ll need to find out the relevant cell ID for the location you want to teleport to.
Reopen Character Customisation Menu ( showlooksmenu player 1 )
Make sure the character is centered when you use this, as it does not automatically center the character.
Change Character Race ( player.setrace [race id] )
You’ll need to be able to find out the race ID for the console command above. Be careful, as a lot of races cause the Fallout 4 game to crash.
Reset Player Health ( player.resethealth )
Modify Player Jump ( stegs fJumpHeightMin [insert number here] )
Be careful if you do use this. Fall damage is still a thing, so if you don’t turn on God Mode alongside this you could kill yourself.
Remove AI Detection ( tdetect)
Improve A Skill By An Amount ( player.modav [skill] [number] )
In order to do this, the skill must be typed out in full. For example, ‘ perception ‘.
Set Character Trait To New Value ( player.setav [character variable] [number] )
This will also unlock the perks in that trait, unlike the previous command.
Add Multiplier To Running Speed ( player.setav speedmult [insert number here] )
Again, it is advisable to include God Mode when using this tweet for safety reasons.
Improve Character Level ( player.setlevel [insert number here] )
Add Bottlecaps ( player/additem 0000000f [insert number here] )
Add Bobbypins ( player/additem 0000000a [insert number here] )
Add Any Item ( player.additem [item ID] [number] )
The item ID is needed for this console command.
Turn Off AI ( tai )
Turn Off Combat AI ( tcai )
Kill Everyone In The Vicinity ( killall )
This does not kill characters, such as companions and plot-relevant characters, that would not ordinarily be able to die.
Kill Any Creature ( kill [insert ID] )
This will require you to know the creature’s ID.
Resurrect Any Creature ( resurrect [insert ID] )
This will require you to know the creature’s ID. It can be used to bring back creatures killed with the previous command.
Resets A Character ( recycleactor )
Alter Character Size ( setscale [insert number] )
This can either be used to change your size, or a target’s size. Number input is between 1 and 10.
Alter Character Sex ( sexchange )
This works on any character selected.
Get Affinity Level Of Current Companion ( getav CA_affinity )
Set Companion’s Affinity Level ( setav CA_affinity [number] )
Add To Companion’s Affinity Level ( modav CA_affinity [number] )
Unequip All Items From Selected Character ( unequipall )
Become Allied With Faction ( player.AddToFaction [faction id] [0 or 1] )
Remove the ‘player’ prefix to use on any targeted character.
Remove Character From Faction ( player.RemoveFromFaction [faction id] )
Remove the ‘player’ prefix to use on any targeted character.
Remove Target From All Factions ( removefromallfactions )
Make Factions Friendly ( setally [faction id] [faction id] [0 or 1] [0 or 1] )
The 0 value is friendly, and the 1 value is allied.
Make Factions Enemies ( setenemy [faction id] [faction id] [0 or 1] [0 or 1] )
The 0 value is neutral, and the 1 value is enemies.
Complete All Current Objectives ( completeallobjectives [Quest ID] )
Reset A Quest ( resetquest [Quest ID] )
Complete A Quest ( completequest [Quest ID] )
Complete All Steps In Primary Quest ( caqs )
Teleport To Item Room ( coc qasmoke )
This is a good way to find the item IDs you’d need.
