Genshin Impact: 1.2 New Weapons Revealed

The Genshin Impact 1.2 Update is bringing a lot to the table, new weapons are just some of the content that is dropping alongside the patch! Here’s everything you need to know about the new weapons coming to Genshin Impact 1.2…

Genshin Impact is “the Gacha that could”. It’s sky-rocketed in popularity and doesn’t seem to be slowing down for anything. Now on the eve of the Genshin Impact 1.2 patch, several new weapons have been revealed.

Everything below is being taken straight from the miHoYo blog, so you know it’s true. The new weapons that are coming to Genshin Impact 1.2 promise to raise the bar yet-again and give you a new batch of exclusives to chase.

Anyway… Below, we’ll list how to obtain the weapon and the key details about their statistics. That way, you can figure out which ones you want to go after first!

Genshin Impact 1.2 Update New Weapons

Summit Shaper – 5-Star Sword

“A symbol of a legendary pact, this sharp blade once cut off the peak of a mountain.”

In order to obtain the Summit Shaper, players will need to compete in the “Epitome Invocation” event. This weapon will have a huge drop rate boost during this event.

The Summit Shaper increases Shield Strength and gives an ATK boost that stacks on successful hits.

Festering Desire – 4-Star Sword

A creepy straight sword that almost seems to yearn for life. It drips with a shrivelling venom that could even corrupt a mighty dragon.

In order to obtain this weapon, players must complete the “Princeps Cretaceous Chapter: Act I” quest and the “Festering Desire” Event Quest in order to receive this weapon.

The Festering Desire increases the DMG and CRIT Rate of Elemental Skills.

It is also worth noting that players will receive specific bonuses using this weapon during “The Chalk Prince and the Dragon” event.

During this, players will…

  • Gain bonus DMG dealt via Scarlet Quartzes;
  • Accumulate Sheer Cold at a slower rate;
  • Additional CRIT DMG to enemies in Dragonspine area;
  • Additional CRIT Rate against enemies in Dragonspine area;
  • Deal more base DMG to enemies in Dragonspine area;

Snow-Tombed Starsilver – 4-Star Claymore

An ancient great sword that was stored between frescoes. Forged from Starsilver, it has the power to cleave through ice and snow.

In order to obtain this weapon, players will have to fulfil certain criteria while exploring Dragonspine to unlock the forging blueprint for this weapon.

The Snow-Tombed Starsilver increases the drop-rate of an Everfrost Icicle, which deals AoE Physical DMG. Opponents affected by Cryo also receive further DMG.

Dragonspine Spear – 4-Star Polearm

” A spear created from the fang of a dragon. It is oddly warm to the touch.”

In order to obtain this weapon, the player must collect Strange Teeth while exploring the Wyrmrest Valley. This will unlock “The Festering Fang” quest that you can complete to unlock this weapon and it’s blueprint.

Frostbearer – 4-Star Catalyst

” A fruit that possesses a strange, frosty will. A faint sense of agony emanates from it.”

In order to obtain this, players must first reach Lv. 10 in the Frostbearing Tree. This will then award them with the Frostbearer forging blueprint.

The Frostbearer increases the drop-rate of an Everfrost Icicle, which deals AoE Physical DMG. Opponents affected by Cryo also receive further DMG.
