How Circle Splits Work in Warzone 2

Published:

The land of Al Mazrah is a dangerous and unpredictable place. If you will be deploying in Warzone 2 you have to prepare for new circles as they can catch you off guard by splitting. Here’s how exactly circle splits work in Warzone 2.

In some games, you will see a traditional single circle that will shrink as the game goes on. Just like in the original Warzone. However, sometimes the circle may split into smaller ones, and then you will be in for a whole new adventure.

Circle Collapse Explained

The circle can split into a maximum of three smaller circles. Those circles will get smaller and closer to each other as the game goes on. And by the end will merge back into a single Safe Zone.

During the Circle Collapse you will need to adjust for a new kind of gameplay:

  • More Close-Quarter Combat. With smaller zones, you will find less use for Sniper and Marksman Rifles within a single circle. Instead, try to get yourself a rapid Assault Rifle or an SMG
  • Cross-Circle Combat. Snipers are useless in an individual small circle. But since the circles are close you can potentially shoot someone in a neighboring circle. Or get shot yourself.
  • Rotation. Timing your rotations and positioning is always a key to winning a battle royale game. With three circles in play, you have to account for the players inside them and potential hotspots once the circles merge.

Keep an eye out for potential safe spots and buildings to loot when the split begins. You will need to have quite some variety in your loadout depending on where you ended up.

With how circle splits work in mind you have to start preparing for your first deployment to Warzone 2. To do that, there are quite a few features that will help you in Warzone 2:
