How To Change Seasons in Forza Horizon 4

Updated:

Forza Horizon 4 introduced new weather conditions by adding seasons of the year. You can drive on a frozen lake in winter, or enjoy the sun in the summer. To drive in your favorite weather, here’s how to change seasons in Forza Horizon 4.

After you complete the introduction to the game that takes you through all four seasons the game will rotate seasons weekly. It is a part of the system of how new content is introduced in-game and you can’t control it. The only place where you can control seasons is in custom events or in a private adventure.

Festival Playlist Seasons

Rotational seasons are a key part of the festival in Forza Horizon 4 and you can’t change them. The season will change every Thursday and along with it, there will be new stuff for you to do. After all 4 seasons have passed, a new cycle will begin with new activities and rewards.

To take a look at a current season and what it has in store for you head to the “Festival Playlist”. There you will find the current season opened with all the associated challenges and races as well as rewards that you can earn this week.

You can also take a look at what the upcoming weeks will bring you and see your current Festival Playlist progression toward the ultimate reward. The Festival Playlist will update with the new season cycle.

Custom Events

Custom races are an open way for you to control the season you drive in. Every race in the game has an event blueprint made by the developers. But players can also create their own.

In the event selection go to “Custom Events” and browse around. You will find multiple different events created by the community. Those will have different settings including the season, weather, car theme, and car class.

If you don’t want to use someone else’s blueprint, you can always create your own. Select “Create Blueprint” and set up your own event with the settings and season you prefer.

Private Adventure

The final and most complicated way to control the seasons is by creating a private adventure. The concept is very similar to custom events but this time you are setting up a series of events across Britain.

Unlike a custom event, this is a multiplayer event. So you will need at least 2 players including yourself to participate in the adventure.

You can choose the overall settings for the session and the world and then customize which exact events you want your session to have. As always you can choose the cars, classes, weather, and more before starting the game.

This setup will take some time but it is perfect if you want to build your ideal experience in Forza Horizon 4 and then maybe even invite your friends along for a ride and a few races.

To set up your private adventure, go to the “Online Adventure” tab and select “Private Adventure” to start the setup process.
