Warzone 2 was just released, and its Al Mazrah map has new dynamic points of interest called ‘Strongholds‘. We’re going to show you how to find and clear out these strongholds, alongside what kind of loot and benefits they offer in Warzone 2 including black site keys, loadouts, and more.
The battle royale genre has gotten quite stale in the past year, and this has incentivized companies to implement new features into their battle royale games. Strongholds are an example of that, and they add a completely new way for you to experience the new Warzone 2 map and even loot up.
How to Find Strongholds in Warzone 2
Strongholds are AI-controlled buildings on the new Al Mazrah Warzone 2 map. Clearing them out will give the player access to very good loot and their own custom loadout. There will be 3 strongholds on the map at one time, and they only appear during the end of the first circle collapse.
Not only are Strongholds great for looting up early on, but they will also give you Black Site keys if your team clears them first. It won’t be hard to spot them. Each stronghold is marked with a green castle icon on the map. Furthermore, a good indication that you’re in a stronghold will be AI soldiers.
Although strongholds contain some good loot, most Warzone 2 players will want to clear these for the black site key. This will lead players down a path for even better loot. Clearing strongholds however is an entirely different thing. And we’re going to be covering that shortly.
How to Clear Strongholds in Warzone 2
There are two main steps to clearing a stronghold in Warzone 2. Finding one is simple, as they will be marked. But, clearing them will require you to eliminate all of the AI combatants and defuse a bomb before the timer expires. This includes enemy players; if any are present in the stronghold that is.
Both of these tasks are easy enough when you’re alone. However, it gets more difficult if there are enemy squads about. AI soldiers do indeed shoot back, which makes it even harder. To top it all off, you’re also tasked with defusing a bomb whilst doing all of this. As you can see, it’s not that easy, but that’s what makes it awesome.
Once you clear a stronghold and defuse the bomb, you’ll be able to choose a custom loadout. Alongside all of the loot that you got whilst clearing it. Lastly, as soon as you defuse the bomb a UAV will also sweep the area. Allowing you to see if there are any enemy squads creeping up on you.
Knowing how to find and clear strongholds is vital in Warzone 2. These are only a taste of what’s to come though. Black Sites are even harder renditions of strongholds, and you’re going to need the practice if you want to be able to compete with both the AI soldiers and players.
