How to Get Plasma Fruit in Sims 4

Updated:

The Sims 4 introduced its fourth expansion pack ‘Vampires’ in 2017. This expansion pack allows players to turn their Sims into vampires, giving them immortality, a new diet, and a few supernatural abilities.

Vampire Sims don’t function in the same way that normal Sims do. The biggest difference is that Vampire Sims don’t have a hunger meter, and only have a thirst motive for ‘Plasma’. They can get Plasma from other human Sims or the convenient Plasma fruit in Sims 4

Plasma fruit is a vegetarian option for Vampire Sims that is relatively inexpensive and lower effort. If you’re wondering how to get Plasma fruit in Sims 4, we’ll tell you all the different ways you can do it in the game.

Plasma fruit is a fruit that contains Plasma (the term for blood in Sims 4: Vampires), and can only be consumed by Vampire Sims. Plasma fruit slightly resembles an onion and is light pink. When Vampire Sims eat Plasma fruit, they drink it with a straw.

You’ll know your Vampire sim is craving Plasma fruit when they get a thought bubble with the fruit and a red drop near it. According to their personality traits, normal Sims will either stay away from Plasma fruit or eat it and face severe discomfort.

If your Vampire sim has the ‘Vegetarian’ personality trait, they will have to rely on Plasma Fruit for sustenance and to quench the ‘Thirst’ motive. You cannot make your Vegetarian sim perform the ‘bite neck’ action, so it becomes all the more important to ensure a steady supply of Plasma fruit so they don’t die.

Getting Plasma fruit in Sims 4 is pretty easy since it’s supposed to be an easier alternative to finding a human sim and biting their neck. There are multiple ways in which you can get Plasma fruit, with varying costs and effort levels.

Plucking Plasma Fruit from a Plasma Tree

This is one of the most straightforward ways to get Plasma Fruit in Sims 4: Vampires. You can find a Plasma tree and pluck a Plasma fruit for your Sim to consume. You’ll find Plasma trees anywhere around Forgotten Hollow, but they can be tricky to find since they’re smaller than most trees and will show up in random places. Here’s a reliable method to find a Plasma tree.

  1. Travel to Vlad’s house in Forgotten Hollow.
  2. Behind Vlad’s house will be a Plasma tree. Click on the tree and select ‘View Plasma tree’. You can eat one Plasma fruit, but you won’t be able to pluck too many fruits to take with you.

This method can get tiresome if you don’t want to make your Vampire sim travel around the neighborhood every time they get their Plasma pangs. It’s a good idea to try a different method so that they can have a more regular supply to Plasma.
Vampires do not have a bladder function, so you don’t have to worry about constantly sending them to the bathroom. This frees up your time to focus on finding enough Plasma for them to stay satiated.

Planting Plasma Seeds

Planting Plasma seeds to have your very own Plasma Tree is the smartest move in Sims 4: Vampires. You won’t have to keep spending money to buy Plasma and only need to go to your backyard when you feel thirsty.

There are two ways to get Plasma seeds:

  1. You can collect a sample from another Plasma tree. You can take these seeds and plant them in your backyard.
  2. If you’re at Vampire Level 8, you don’t have to worry about searching for seeds, and can simply buy them for 300 simoleons from your computer. Select Vampire Secrets on your computer and then purchase the seeds. You can now plant them in your backyard or garden area.

While this is the easiest way to get Plasma Fruits, it’s not a short-term solution. You will have to wait for the plants to grow into full fruit-bearing trees before you can eat them. Your Sim will also need to have decent gardening skills in order to plant the Plasma Fruit seeds.

So if your Vampire sim is very low energy and dying from thirst, don’t try to plant a Plasma fruit tree!

There are times when your Sim is at the brink of exhaustion or hunger and needs Plasma pronto. If you don’t have a Plasma fruit tree planted, a human sim, or Vlad’s Plasma tree in the vicinity, you’re going to need a Plasma Pack.

Buying a Plasma Pack

Plasma packs are the Vampire equivalent of snacks. These are quick Plasma drinks that will satisfy your Vampire Sim’s thirst, but not completely in the way that a Plasma fruit would.

You can buy Plasma Packs from your computer. Go to the Vampire Secrets section and buy Plasma Packs for 50 simoleons.

Clearly, buying Plasma Packs can get expensive, and should be used as an emergency measure. They’re not really worth it since they don’t completely quench your Sim’s thirst.

Turning frogs and fish into Plasma packs

Here’s an interesting trick. As a Vampire sim, you can also turn the frogs and fish in your pond into Plasma packs. This would require that you have a pond in your backyard, and can be a cheaper way to get a steady supply of Plasma snacks.

Cooking is an important aspect of the regular Sims 4 game, and the Vampire expansion pack is no different. While Vampire Sims don’t have the capacity for hunger, they do enjoy Plasma-based drinks. You can create your own drinks for your Vampire Sim to relish with Plasma fruit.

Plasma fruit doesn’t last for too long if kept outside a fridge. You can expect it to last anywhere between 10-14 hours when left at your Sim’s kitchen counter.

Plasma fruit salad is one of the most useful recipes since it satisfies your Sim’s thirst completely. Additionally, you can order the Plasma Jane drink from the bar in Forgotten Hollow. Plasma Jane takes a long time for your Vampire Sim to drink and provides the same thirst satisfaction as a Plasma Pack, but it can improve their mood greatly.

Plasma Fruit is also important for potions. You can make a Sunlight Reversal cocktail with two garlic and one Plasma fruit. This allows your Sim to remain energized when in Sunlight instead of getting quickly depleted.

Finally, if you choose to turn your Vampire Sim back into a Human Sim, you can do so by making the Ultimate Vampire’s Cure. This recipe requires ten Wolfsbane, ten Garlic, and ten Plasma Fruit.

Your Vampire sim will stay happy when you keep giving them Plasma Fruit – and they can go about mastering their supernatural abilities and turning innocent humans over to the dark side. In case your Vampire sim drank too much Plasma from a Human sim, here’s how to bring Sims back to life in Sims 4.
