Marrying followers is a great way to increase Faith in Cult of the Lamb. It’s the ideal way to progress quickly for those who don’t feel like sacrificing or eating their devoted followers.
Marriage also unlocks a bunch of new ways to carry out some evil cult leader antics, if you’re feeling chaotic. We’ll cover exactly how to marry your favorite follower down below.
How To Unlock Marriage

You can marry followers in Cult of the Lamb by unlocking the ‘Wedding’ ritual. This is done in the Temple, through the use of Commandment Stones. Luckily, Commandment Stones are fairly easy to come by once you know how. To get one, you’ll have to collect three Commandment Stone Fragments.
You can collect Commandment Stone Fragments in the following ways:
- Leveling up followers
- Finding them randomly in chests throughout dungeons
- Getting them for free during the main story (three Fragments only)
Once you have three Fragments, they’ll combine into one full Commandment Stone. Head into the Temple and interact with the Altar to get to spend it.
Choose ‘Declare New Doctrine’ in the Crown Offering Menu, then choose the Law and Order track. The Wedding ritual is available as the second choice along this track, so you’ll have to invest two Stones into Law and Order to unlock it.
By unlocking weddings, you’ll miss out on the ‘Ritualistic Fight Pit’ ritual. Luckily, the type of player that plans on marrying a follower probably isn’t interested in watching followers fight to the death.
Getting Married
Once you’ve unlocked the Wedding ritual, use the Ritual menu at the Temple altar to start the ceremony. Like any ritual, a wedding costs some materials to carry out. In this case, you’ll need 75 Bone.
If you have the materials, you can start the ceremony. Pick any follower you like from the list to be joined in unholy matrimony with them.
What Does Getting Married Do?
Marrying a follower has a few effects. The most immediate is the +30 Faith that your followers will gain. Once you’re married, you’ll also gain the ability to kiss your spouse, increasing their loyalty.
Being married isn’t all sunshine and rainbows, however. Sacrificing a spouse will give you more power than sacrificing an average follower. In true cult leader fashion, you can also take multiple spouses. Be careful with this, however, as it can lead to dissenting followers.
