Growing and harvesting crops is one of the main activities you’ll spend time doing in Coral Island. It’s the best way to make money and gather ingredients for cooking.
We’ll cover exactly how to grow and harvest crops down below.
Farming Crops in Coral Island
Before you can harvest crops and make money, you’ll first have to find and plant seeds, then grow them. All that is a long process of farming in Coral Island
Finding Seeds
You can gather seeds in two ways. The first is by cutting down tall grass with your scythe, a tool you’ll get as soon as you arrive at your house on day one. Simply equip the scythe to your hotbar, select it, then click on tall grass to begin cutting it down. The cut grass will drop wild seeds, alongside fiber and some trash.
If you want to pick and choose specific seeds for planting, you’ll have to purchase them from Sam’s General Store in town.
Planting and Growing Crops
Once you have seeds for the crops you want to farm, you’ll need to plant them. You can only plant seeds on readied farmland, so you’ll have to prepare some land first.
You can do this by using a trowel on any empty ground tile in your farm. Next, select the seeds from your hotbar, then click on the readied ground to plant the seeds.
You’ll now have to tend to your crops as they grow. This is easy – simply use the watering can to water your plants each day until they’re fully grown.
Harvesting Crops
Once a crop is fully grown, a pop-up will appear next to it indicating that it can be harvested. Click on the ‘harvest’ button to cut down the crop and add it to your inventory ready for selling.
If you don’t fancy selling crops, you can also use your harvest as an ingredient for one of Coral Island’s many cookable meals that are easy to learn how to make.
Selling Crops in Coral Island
Once your crops are harvested, you can choose to sell them to Sam. There are two ways you can do this. The fastest way is to head into town and sell them to Sam directly in his general store.
If you don’t mind waiting, you can instead place the harvested crops into the shipping container right next to your house. This is a more convenient way of selling crops, though you won’t get paid for them until the following day.
