Minecraft has the ability to make you feel any type of emotion. Fear is one of those, and players have come across some scary Minecraft seeds that might leave you feeling uneasy. The seeds we’re about to list are only for Minecraft 1.19 Java Edition and will likely not work on Bedrock Edition.
The worlds that these seeds generate will in most cases make for really good survival worlds that show a lot of potential. You never know, you might find something else entirely when exploring them.
Abandoned Villages
Seed: 769587531
First Abandoned Village Coordinates: X: 52 / Y: 83 / Z: -137
The Abandoned Villages seed is something straight out of a horror movie or game. You’re placed near multiple abandoned villages as soon as you spawn, which isn’t great if you want to avoid zombie villagers early on.
What makes it even more dangerous and scary is the fact that there’s a ruined portal in one of the abandoned villages. This portal will bleed into the overworld, so zombie villagers won’t be the only thing you have to worry about.
With Halloween steadily approaching, this scary seed makes for a great Halloween-themed Minecraft world for you to try out. That is if you’re ready to deal with the enemies this seed will undoubtedly throw at you.
Abandoned Mangrove Swamp Village
Seed: 57000088
Swamp Village Coordinates: X: -384 / Y: 62 / Z: 206
Abandoned villages may not be that scary in Minecraft, but they can be if placed in a specific setting or biome. They’re hard to come by as is, and encountering one whilst you’re in a mangrove swamp won’t really help you survive long enough.
Mangrove swamps are very thick, and you’re bound to get lost if you don’t pay attention to your surroundings. That is what makes this seed even scarier. An abandoned village hidden by a mangrove swamp isn’t something many of us want near our spawn.
This is another great Halloween seed that you can use in Minecraft. Surviving in a mangrove swamp isn’t all that easy. But, if you want to challenge yourself, then this seed is perfect for you.
Cliffside Ocean Monument
Seed: 95858512095
Ocean Monument Coordinates: X: 128 / Y: 62 / 192
This seed may spawn you in a normal location, but there’s more to it than meets the eye. If you turn left upon spawning into the game, you’ll encounter a colossal cliffside that descends into the ocean. Lava can be seen pouring out of multiple cracks in the cliff, which is never a comforting sight.
The cherry on top is the ocean monument structure that can be seen lingering just in front of the cliff. Ocean monuments are not something to take lightly. Especially if you’re looking to wander across the ocean in an attempt to find new land.
A seed like this may not be conventionally scary, but it is quite unnerving. Newer players are advised to steer clear of this seed in their Minecraft playthroughs.
Ancient City Spawn
Seed: 11034759160
Ancient Cities are new and pretty rare structures in Minecraft. If you think that abandoned villages are scary, then this structure will surprise you. These cities are part of deep dark cave biomes, and they are even bigger than strongholds.
This scary Minecraft seed will spawn an ancient city directly below the player’s spawning point. You can quite literally just mine down on your spawning block. However, this isn’t something to celebrate. These ancient cities are known for their ruthless protectors: Wardens.
Overworld Nether Spawn
Seed: -3111440461282444761
The Nether has distinct features that you will rarely ever see in the overworld dimension. But what if we told you there was a place in the overworld that looked very similar to the Nether? Well, this seed spawns you in the middle of a giant lava pool on a small island that has a conveniently placed abandoned portal.
What enhances this location is the huge opening above the lava pool. This hole leads straight into a desert biome and will allow you to escape this hell hole pretty quickly. Activating and entering the abandoned portal will lead you to a Warped Forest Nether Biome with another abandoned portal.
There’s so much to unpack here. It almost feels as if the Nether and overworld are slowly merging.
These scary Minecraft seeds aren’t something to play around with. They’re great for themed playthroughs, but don’t think that surviving in them will be a walk in the park.
