The Best TFT Comps in Set 7: Dragonlands

Updated:

Teamfight Tactics Set 7: Dragonlands has been out for a little while now and the meta has been formed. If you’re looking to climb in Teamfight Tactics it’s worthwhile learning to pick up some of the comps, as well as know what’s good to see what your opponents might be running. Here are the best comps to be running in TFT Set 7: Dragonlands.

Teamfight Tactics is a lot about synergy. It’s about creating a team full of synergy from their Traits, Origins, Augments, and Items. Generally speaking, most comps are fully formed at player level 7 or 8 and tend to have a lot of different Traits and Origins at play.

Whispers Bruisers

Whispers Bruisers is a pretty straightforward comp that uses Sy’Fen, an 8-cost Dragon that dashes through enemies and causes havoc. On top of that, you’ve got Bruisers to back him up as a frontline.

Item wise Sy’Fen wants a lot of Attack Damage and Attack Speed so Guinsoo’s Rageblade, Bloodthirster, and Quicksilver Sash are a good choice. These items help Sy’Fen survive and also proc Whispers, which grants bonus AD and AP per auto-attack.

You’ll want Ornn and Qiyana in, together they give you Tempest which is a fantastic splash augment that stuns all enemy units and deals damage. Qiyana also activates the Assassin trait for Pyke, who will be the secondary carry.

The best augments for Whispers Bruisers are:

  • Best Friends
  • Titanic Force
  • Celestial Blessing

Jade Mystics

Jade Mystics is another fantastic top-tier TFT comp to play in Set 7. For this team composition, you’ll want to run the Jade Dragon Shi Oh Yu. Shi Oh Yu works as a frontline bruiser carry. She works well as a damage carry while also protecting her backline carries. Alongside Shi Oh Yu, you’ve got champions like Lulu and Neeko to back her up with CC and buffs.

Item wise Shi Oh Yu is the carry, with Bloodthirster and Titan’s Resolve being a must. Otherwise, tank items should go onto Neeko, who is also a great secondary tank in this comp.

  • Living Forge
  • Jade Crown
  • Cybernetic Implants/ Cybernetic Shell

Revel Cannoneers

Revel Cannoneers is an incredibly potent comp when you hit the right augments. The team composition relies on Corki and Sona as carries, with Idas the Shimmerscale dragon as a frontline.

You’ll want to run this comp with Trainers, as both Lulu and Tristana are included in the final comp. This gives you Nomsy, which is a nice bonus to your frontline and damage.

Item wise you’ll want Guinsoo’s Rageblade, Giant Slayer and Quicksilver Sash for Corki as he’s your primary carry. These aren’t completely necessary though and most AD items should work just fine. Any tank items you’ll want to throw on your Idas so that they can survive as long as possible.

The best augments for Revel Cannoneers are:

  • Best Friends
  • Revel Crown
  • Stand United

This is a really fun easy comp that just works super well together, however towards the late game you may need to swap out some characters for high-cost champions.

Ao Shin and Friends

Out of all the 10 cost dragons in this set, Ao Shin has to be the coolest. A huge thunderous dragon that causes lightning to rain down on his foes and deal massive damage. Ao Shin and Friends can be a pretty difficult comp to run, as relying on getting an Ao Shin can be a pretty dangerous gamble. Under the right conditions, Ao Shin can singlehandedly carry fights provided he can cast his ability.

Ao Shin typically wants a Spear of Shojin, Archangel’s Embrace, and a Hextech Gunblade. These items provide him with the damage and mana generation to allow him to wipe the entire enemy board.

Alongside Ao Shin, you’ll want an Ornn and Sylas as your frontline. Both of these units stall so that Ao Shin can cast his ability successfully. This is a great comp to pivot to if you find you’ve got good Ao Shin items and find an early Ao Shin.

  • Stand United

  • Cybernetic Uplink

Astral Aurelion Sol

Astral Aurelion Sol is another TFT comp that is going to be great for beginners in Set 7. It’s a relatively simple comp that involves grabbing Astral units to hit 9 Astrals with Aurelion Sol. This makes it super simple as you won’t need to think too much about which synergies work well together.

Item wise you’ll want to focus on putting them on Varus and Illaoi, and then Aurelion Sol when you get him. From there you’ll want to reroll at 9 Astrals to get Aurelion Sol 2. There really isn’t too much to this comp, but it does rely on some RNG in terms of getting your Astral units.

  • Best Friends

  • Think Fast

Scalescorn Reroll

Our final comp of this list is Scalescorn Rerolls. Scalescorn is a trait that actively works against putting a dragon into your team comp. While you may be without a dragon, your Scalescorn units will gain massive bonuses in return. The two carries for Scalescorn are Olaf and Diana, and you’ll want both of them well itemized to make sure that this comp is successful.

Olaf wants a Guinsoo’s Rageblade, Bloodthirster, and Quicksilver while Diana wants a Sunfire Cape, Frozen Heart, and Ionic Spark. It’s important to note that Diana and Olaf should be 3-starred ASAP, which means getting to level 7 and slow rolling (rolling until 50 gold) until you find them. Other Scalescorns like Lillia and Braum are also nice to have 3-starred if possible too.
