Return Scrolls are an incredibly useful item in Undecember, allowing you to quickly create a portal back to town without using a waypoint.
Luckily, you can get these important items as early as Undecember’s first act. We’ll cover exactly how to get and use Return Scrolls down below.
How to Get Return Scrolls
You can obtain Return Scrolls early on, as soon as you reach the Malo Front base in Act 1. Once you’ve arrived, head over to Brown, the merchant NPC to the east of your location.
Talk to Brown to open up his shop, where you can buy Return Scrolls for 500 gold each. You can earn gold by completing quests and uncovering pieces of Undecember’s map.
You can buy an unlimited number of Return Scrolls from Brown, so long as you have the gold to purchase them. Once you’ve bought a Return Scroll, it will automatically equip to your hotbar, ready for use.
How to Use a Return Scroll
You can use Return Scrolls to create portals without using Undecember’s naturally occurring waypoints. They’re the only way to create an on-demand route back to town.
To quickly create a portal with a Return Scroll, simply press the key underneath the Return Scroll’s symbol on your HUD. This is the ‘0’ key by default, but it may be different if you’ve manually re-mapped your controls.
Rules around Portal Creation
You can create and use Return Scrolls freely in most situations, including during raids and in dungeons. This makes them a great way to escape danger or quickly go back to town to buy and sell gear.
Unfortunately, there are some restrictions on the portals you create with Return Scrolls. A portal can only be opened with a Scroll every ten minutes. You also can’t create one when you’re in a boss battle.
