X10 Eliminate Crazy Raccoons at Masters: Reykjavík

Updated:

In the first series of the day, X10 has eliminated Crazy Raccoons from Masters: Reykjavík in a stylish 2-0 series. The mixed Japanese-Korean squad is the first team to be out of the tournament, with a 0-4 W/L record that hides some extremely close maps against Version1.

A huge surprise on the map veto, with X10 banning Ascent instead of Bind, despite Monday’s close 12-14 loss against Vikings and its history as one of their best maps.

As such, Crazy Raccoon was left with no choice but to play Bind in the series, a map in which the team incidentally has their lowest win-rate.

Haven and Ascent were the first two to be picked, with Bind coming in as the decider.

But X10 wasn’t done with the surprises, with Patiphan “Patiphan” Chaiwong making his Viper debut on Haven.

All this deception was enough to throw Crazy Raccoons off their game, with X10 dashing to an early 7-2 lead that CR salvaged to a three round gap by the end of the half.

Switching into the defensive side, X10 strung along the first five rounds to archive match-point. However, the Japanese squad would be resilient and stay in the game until a wildcard buy with four Judge’s closed it out 13-9.

Yusuke “Neth” Matsuda’s fragging power was the lifeline of the Crazy Raccoons defence on Icebox. However, while his trusty Killjoy kept X10’s attack humble, they would have a much harder time on the second half.

With the pistol round secured, X10 stampeded towards the finish line, closing out the map and the series with a 13-5 victory.

With Crazy Raccoons out of the picture, X10 will now go on to meet Fnatic at the second round of the Lower-Bracket, following their defeat at the hands of Sentinels.
