Infinity Ward focused much of its attention on perfecting weapon design, which is why it would be a shame if you didn’t get the chance to learn how to inspect your weapon in Modern Warfare 2.
The ‘inspect’ animation has been in Call of Duty for a long time now, and it mainly came as a result of various weapon-related microtransactions. Although the base weapon designs themselves look okay, players will want to know how to inspect weapons after they’ve bought custom camos.
How to Inspect a Weapon in Modern Warfare 2
Inspecting weapons in Modern Warfare 2 is simple, but different on each platform:
- PC – Press the ‘I’ key
- Xbox & PlayStation – Left Arrow on D-Pad
One thing to keep in mind is that you can only inspect your weapon whilst in a match. And pressing the prompt to inspect will immediately revoke your ability to fire. So we don’t recommend doing this in the middle of a match, as it will likely get you killed. The beginning of the match would be your safest way to inspect weapons.
Upcoming Skins and Cosmetics
This animation will become more relevant once Infinity Ward releases the first season of Modern Warfare 2 with the new battle pass. It will likely feature a battle pass with a ton of cosmetic items for your weapons and maybe even another weapon vault like we had in the Vault Edition of the game.
Now you’re ready to start buying camos and cosmetic items in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Inspecting weapons might not be an essential feature, but it is a great way to experience the finer details that this game has to offer.
