How to get high level in Valorat fast

Leveling up is the main way of progressing in Valorant. Whether you like it or not, leveling up is the main way to get operators, unlock Competitive, and a few other things. The level-up process is quite slow, but you can speed it up with a few tips and tricks. Here’s how to level up fast in Valorant.

How Does Leveling Work in Valorant

The leveling system is quite simple in Valorant. How much AP you get in a game is affected by how many rounds you play and win. There are also daily missions and weekly missions which offer bonus AP.

At the end of each match, you get both AP and XP. XP levels up Agent Contracts and the Battle Pass, while AP levels up your account level.

How to Level up Agent Contracts and Battle Pass in Valorant

Valorant Harbor agent contract levels

As mentioned above, players gain XP in order to progress their Agent Contracts and the Battle Pass. Both have a set of rewards that you can get and the XP you earn for one also counts for the other. So you can make the most of your time by leveling them at the same time.

  • Each round played gives 100 XP
  • Winning a round gives a 200 XP bonus
  • Daily Missions offer up to 2000 XP
  • Weekly Missions offer up to 12000 XP

During special in-game events you may also get a “Squad Boost” if you play with your friends:

  • 2 Premade – 8% XP Increase
  • 3 Premade – 12% XP Increase
  • 4 Premade – 16% XP Increase
  • 5 Premade – 20% XP Increase

It takes about 200,000 XP total to reach tier 5 and unlocked the agent. After that, you’ll have to grind 775,000 more XP to completely finish the contract. Keep in mind that you can only have one agent contract active at a time.

The Battle Pass requires 1,162,500 XP to fully complete the Battle Pass including the Epilogue tiers.

How to Level Up your Account Level in Valorant

At the end of each match, you will be rewarded with AP (Account Points). This is the main way for you to level up your account. The difference between AP and XP is that XP only levels up your Agent Contracts and the Battle Pass. Once they are leveled, XP is deemed useless.

But, AP will always be given to you, regardless of which mode you play or the agent you use.

There are quite a lot of levels to get through in Valorant, so if your goal is to reach the last level border you’re going to have to grind for quite some time.

Here’s a quick rundown of what you need to know about AP in Valorant. You get:

  • 1 AP for a completed game + 1 AP for every 6 seconds played
  • 50 AP for a won game
  • 1000 AP for the first win of the day

Basically, the more you play Valorant the more AP you will get. No matter your skill level, ACS, or KDA stats. This is why the account level is the worst skill indicator and many prefer to hide it.

How to Level Up Fast in Valorant

As mentioned above, leveling in Valorant is quite a grind. Especially post-level 20, you won’t be able to level up in one or two games. But, there are a few things you can do to level up fast.

If you’re making a smurf account and rushing to level 20, your best bet is playing Team Deathmatch and Spike Rush. Make sure to play wing at least one game a day to get that bonus AP.

If you’re already at a high level and want to grind for borders or status, try playing Unrated matches. Unrated matches have the potential to give you the most experience, however, they can take much longer to finish. Although not as long as Competitive, and not as sweaty.

Finally for completing your daily and weekly XP missions, play a mix of Unrated and Spike Rush. Some missions can’t be completed in Spike Rush and no missions can be completed in Deathmatch. So keep that in mind.

Now that you are leveled and can play ranked with tons of agents that you’ve unlocked it’s time to get ready. Here are a few things to know about getting ready for competitive play:
