How to Refund Skins and VP in Valorant

Even though it is one of the most competitive games, Valorant is one of the best games when it comes to customizing your favorite weapons. Some skins in the game are absolutely stunning. But, not all of them. In fact, many players think many of the old skins don’t even hold a candle to the new ones. We’re here to answer one simple question – how to refund skins in Valorant.

What Can You Refund in Valorant

When it comes to refunds, Valorant does not take the old Riot route, implemented in League of Legends. In Valorant, you have 14 days from the initial purchase of the item to refund it. If 14 days have passed, you will not be eligible for a refund anymore.

This makes it a bit tedious to get items you may not want out of your inventory, but it proves quite useful if you bought something by mistake.

Here are all of the things you CAN’T get refunds on:

  • Used Weapon Skins
  • Upgraded Weapon Skins
  • Used In-Game Content (Gun Buddies, Player Cards, etc.)
  • Character Contract Levels
  • Weapon Skin Levels
  • Weapon Skin Bundles
  • Premium Battle Passes
  • Premium Battle Pass Levels
  • Radianite Points

A very important note – For all of you hoping to refund older skins, the policy has JUST been updated in the latest update and you are now unable to refund skins you’ve already used. Even if you just used them once in practice. Also, make sure you DON’T upgrade any skins you may want to refund, or they will also become ineligible for one.

How to Ask for a Refund in Valorant

There are two ways to get a refund for a skin in Valorant. First, and easiest (which requires no contact from Riot) is the purchase history method. Here’s how to do it:

  • Go to the Valorant purchase history page on the Official Support Page for Valorant
  • Navigate to the bottom of the page and Log-in to your Valorant account to see your history
  • After logging in, your purchase history will be shown and you will be able to refund any skins that match the criteria

While the process is smooth and does not require human intervention if you encounter any bugs or other issues make sure to contact Riot support by creating a ticket.

Unlike their other games, Riot has made it easier to contact support for trivial but vital features like refunds or name changes.

How to Refund Unused VP

If you have any VP that you don’t plan on using and want a refund, it is a little trickier, but it can still be done. You can only get a VP refund by sending a ticket to Riot Support. Keep in mind that VP also has 14 days during which it can be refunded.

In this way, Valorant is different from other Riot games, because it is the only game in which Riot offers cash refunds.

But if you are stuck with a skin, maybe it’s time to put it to good use and start a ranked climb? Here are a few things that will help you in your ranked journey:
