MultiVersus: Best Morty Perks

Best Perks and Build for Morty in MultiVersus

The Season 1 of MultiVersus is officially underway. Tons of new characters and a ranked mode are the main attractions, with constant support for buffs and nerfs to balance the game out every two weeks. One of the new additions to the roster is Morty, from Rick and Morty. Here’s our guide for the best Morty perks in MultiVersus.

How to Play Morty in MultiVersus

In the game, Morty is listed as a horizontal bruiser. But, as with most new releases, he’s a little on the strong side at the moment. He’s got a lot of great combos, disruptive CC, and some ranged power as well. Morty is a pretty easy character to get to grips with and has very forgiving hitboxes.

When playing as Morty, you can adapt to any match-up. If you’re playing against heavy melee characters like Batman or Shaggy you can go toe to toe with them with ease. You can also hold your own pretty well against caster characters like Tom and Jerry or Bugs Bunny due to Mortys ranged attacks.

Don’t be afraid to engage in combos, Morty has great damage and easy-to-land spells, especially his axe attack.

Best Perks for Morty in MultiVersus

Morty is an all arounder, even though he is officially a horizontal bruiser. He can hold his own both in the air and on the ground. With some great utility such as his grey health grenade, which shields his allies.

An excellent new addition to the roster, Morty brings something that was severely lacking in MultiVersus – a versatile fighter. Although we have characters like Superman that can go against everyone, we didn’t really have a character that is balanced and at the same time can hold his own in all match-ups.

Since Morty is a really solid character with a lot of options in every match-up, his best perks are the ones that enhance core stats – damage, knockback, and cooldown reduction. As a bruiser, you will find yourself fighting for control in most match-ups, and our build is designed to make your life as easy as possible.

Best Synergies: Superman, Bugs Bunny, Reindog, Velma

Signature Perk: I’m More Than Just A Hammer

If there’s one part where Morty does not excel, it is his signature perks. The best choice you have out of all three is also the first one you unlock. While the hammer allows Morty to start combos really well and do a lot of damage, it is not exactly the most reliable.

It often misses since it has a forgiving hitbox for your enemies. If you manage to hit it, though, you can chain huge combos, especially in 2v2.

Perk 1: Painted Target

Painted Target gives you and your team a 5% damage increase when hitting an enemy that is hit-stunned. As we mentioned above, Morty benefits from having his core stats increased as much as possible. This perk not only enhances his Signature Perk, making it devastating when it hits but also many of his other moves.

If you’re using this perk, try pairing him with someone with a lot of CC or disruptions like Garnet. It will make it easier for you to deal damage even with small combos.

Perk 2: Absorb ‘n’ Go

The second perk gives you and your team a 7% cooldown refund when you’re hit by projectiles. This is a generally good perk because the meta is pretty well defined by now and you’re highly likely to face characters that shoot as part of their main combos.

The CDR is always welcome, especially for characters like Morty that can take advantage of small mistakes and start combos from a lot of situations.

Perk 3: Coffeezilla

Coffeezilla is another perk that gives you cooldown reduction. 10% to be exact. This perk adds another layer of safety, as missing some moves can be pretty devastating for Morty. Cofeezilla allows for more attacks and combos, which is always good for bruisers. And Morty doesn’t need any movement perks.

Morty is a new character and maybe you want to give him some time to integrate with the current MultiVersus meta and only then try to build the best perks for him. In that case, we got you covered with a few history-proven great characters in MultiVersus:
