Get Golden Eagles in War Thunder by Playing to Earn

This used to be way easier as there was a feature called Golden Wager that was recently removed from the daily drops. The only way to earn Golden Eagles for free right now is by playing a crafting event.

The most recent crafting event in War Thunder was Spring 2022 one where you would get the following rewards::

  • Credits for every 10 minutes spent in a battle you would get 150-300 credits
  • Superweapon Points for every 10 minutes spent in a battle
  • Upgrade Points for 1st place in a battle

All of these were only obtainable only if you were in a Rank 3+ vehicle and you had at least 50% activity meaning you can’t AFK farm. From those materials, you can craft units or mercenaries which you can sell in the in-game marketplace.

For GJN currency (which is almost a 1:1 ratio to €) you could try and finish the crafting event which always gives you epic rewards such as:

  • USS Davis (DD-395) (rank III) which was one of the rewards of this event and now it sells for 24.00 GJN enough to get you 2500 Golden Eagles
  • Alecto Mk.I (rank I) or the Kfir C.2 (rank VII) which was the only plane reward of this event and now it sells for 89.98 GJN.

We are unsure of any upcoming major events like this one, but we recommend keeping your eye out for that.

Trading to Earn Golden Eagles

This brings us to our next point: trading for Golden Eagles.

War Thunder has its own marketplace inside the game where you can buy and sell vehicles, camouflage, profile icons, chests, chests keys, and decorations. These items become available to players via events or battle pass. They can be sold on the marketplace for GJN profit.

War Thunder Marketplace

If you’re interested you could search the market and create buy orders so you can buy low and sell high making a profit to buy Golden Eagles. For example Sd.Kfz.234/4 (Germany) when it appeared in the event cost 20 GJN and now it reached 400 GJN which is enough to get more than 50000 Golden Eagles.

Of course, a bunch of Golden Eagles will not make you a better pilot or a tank driver, which is why we have a few guides for you to get ready for the battles to come:
