An Assault Rifle is the main tool of any CoD player. Assault Rifles are versatile enough to be built into whatever you need them to be while still being reliable. This is why with the release of Warzone 2 we offer you a list of the best Assault Rifles (ARs) to use when deploying to Al Mazrah.
The guns and loadouts provided are a starting point for you to start building your own destruction machine. Always make sure to tweak the gun to your playstyle whether it is a mag or an optic.
Kastov 762
Starting off with some Soviet weapons, Kastov 762 is a solid Assault Rifle in both Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2. The damage fall-off gets you quite quickly so don’t aim too far with it.
Best Kastov 763 loadout in Warzone 2:
- Underbarrel: Demo IMP-44 Grip
- Barrel: Kastovia 343
- Ammunition: 7.62 High Velocity
- Muzzle: Kastovia DX90
- Optic: Cronen Mini Red Dot
To further work from that damage fall off, this loadout focuses solely on eliminating targets closer than 50 meters. And it does it quite well. However, if you want to be able to shoot further, you might want to make some modifications. By that, we mean completely rebuilding it.
Lachmann-556
An assault rifle from the Lachmann platform, the Lachmann-556, is a great option for any occasion. It may feel not as powerful as other Assault Rifles, but it’s incredibly precise and makes killing enemies so much easier, especially with some good aim.
Best Lachmann-556 loadout in Warzone 2:
- Stock: Lachmann S76 Factory Stock
- Barrel: LM Aurora 90 Barrel
- Rear Grip: LMK64 Grip
- Muzzle: Echoline GS-X
- Optic: Cronen Mini Red Dot
This loadout is mainly for close to mid-range combat. You may try to hit something further than 100 meters but you won’t get much back. The build is made for maximum speed and recoil. Meaning your ADS and sprint-to-fire speeds are extremely fast for an Assault Rifle and there’s almost no recoil.
M16
The M16 is a bit of an odd one here. Previously M16 was a Battle Rifle and it still feels like a mix of both a Battle Rifle and an Assault Rifle. Nevertheless, M16 can become a powerful tool in fighting both short to mid-range targets with its single or burst fire modes.
Best M16 loadout in Warzone 2:
- Stock: Demo Fade Pro Stock
- Underbarrel: Ftac Ripper 566
- Rear Grip: Sakin ZX Grip
- Muzzle: Ftac Castle Comp
- Optic: Hybrid Firepoint

This build focuses more on making the M16 decent on mid to long-range targets. It sacrificed a bit of ADS speed in favor of recoil. And the hybrid optic will make the gun comfortable at any distance you are shooting from.
TAQ-56
The ultimate destruction machine in multiplayer and a great candidate for your favorite primary weapon. TAQ-56 can be unstoppable but the build you are going for may need some additional modifications.
The loadout below will give you a good starting point that can then be adjusted for fighting at a bit longer or shorter distances.
Best TAQ-56 loadout in Warzone 2:
- Muzzle: RF Crown 50
- Optic: Cronen Mini Red Dot
- Barrel: 17.5″ Tundra Pro Barrel
- Rear Grip: FSS Combat Grip
- Underbarrel: Ftac Ripper 56

This loadout absolutely lasers enemies at a cost of just a little of ADS speed. This should be ideal for you to fight any mid-range targets. If you want to get up close and personal, we’d recommend installing a 12″ Tacshort Barrel and a Demo Cleanshot Grip.
M4
Finishing off strong with arguably one of the best ARs in the game at the moment: M4. The M4 is not really suitable for fights on the longer range, so prepare to get quite close to making the most of the gun.
On the other hand, the M4 has the biggest library of attachments available. So make sure to experiment with a few things in a firing range to find what suits you best.
Best M4 loadout in Warzone 2:
- Muzzle: Sakin Tread-40
- Optic: SZ Sro-7
- Barrel: 419mm EXF Barrel
- Rear Grip: Sakin ZX Grip
- Stock: Ravage-8

As already mentioned, it’s more of a close to medium-range build. If you want to lean more towards close-quarter combat, you might want to trade an optic for something like a VX Pineapple underbarrel or an Xten Grip rear grip.
With the weapon at the ready, it’s time to deploy. You have a lot of new stuff waiting for you on the brand-new map of Warzone 2. So here are a few heads-ups to keep you prepped:
