5 Best Mods for Ready or Not

Updated:
These mods will make your Ready or Not experience better.

There are many reasons why we have been talking about Ready or Not for months. It’s one of the best tactical FPS, it’s a lot of fun to play with friends, and it has very realistic gameplay. But one most importantly, it’s a community-centric game. This means it supports mods. So here are the 5 best mods for Ready or Not.

Dozens of mods have been released for Ready or Not. You can pick and choose the ones you want, from a long list on Nexus Mods. But all mods in this list are aimed at improving the gameplay experience. So we’re not going to talk about mods that allow you to carry more magazines or add new guns for your loadout.

Before You Install Mods

Before we move on to the mods, we need to make a small reminder. Even though it’s easier to mod games now, you shouldn’t forget to back up your game files before installing mods.

If you haven’t added mods to Ready or Not before, you should check out this guide we prepared for you. And now, let’s get you the perfect Ready or Not mod.

Console Unlocker – Camera Mod

If you’ve played Ready or Not long enough, you have probably noticed that dark hallways or suspicious rooms often look like they do in the movies. You might even feel like taking a few epic photos with your friends. You can do that with this mod.

Thanks to the Console Unlocker mod, developed by the user named QuantumNuke75, you can enable console commands in the game. And it’s not as complicated as you may think. With this mod, you can use any camera angle, add a local light source and even add color with the simple interface.

Ideal to create a full thumbnail for your videos or a cool wallpaper.

No Upper Right HUD

You already know the option “No HUD”, which you can use in almost all modern games. An option that aims to make your gaming experience more cinematic by removing text and bars on the screen. While this option is sometimes already supported by the game, it can sometimes be implemented with mods.

Just like our previous mod, this mod, also developed by QuantumNuke75, is exactly what it does. Installing this mod, which we voted among Ready or Not’s best mods, will allow you to remove the annoyingly bad-looking text in the upper-right corner of the game.

Not just for gamers who like to take screenshots, but for anyone who wants to make the tactical FPS experience more cinematic.

In-Game Menu

We have cheated a little here. Because this mod has no direct influence on the gameplay with its main feature. Don’t get mad at us right away, though, because the first thing Ready or Not needs to improve, besides the variety of missions, is its main menu.

As the name suggests, by installing this mod you’ll be able to change the entire menu, including the map selection. Apart from the map selection, you’ll have access to everything, including settings, status/player menu, mod list, and servers. It’s possible to download the mod developed by RareKiwi on Nexus.

So is this the only thing that puts “In Game Menu” on the list of best mods for Ready or Not? No, of course, it isn’t. This mod lets you remove the player limit in the lobby. You can connect with any number of players on all maps, where normally a maximum of five players can play together.

But be warned, you’ll most likely run into problems if you want to play with more than 10 players.

Improved Gameplay

Improved Gameplay

One of the most criticized features of Ready or Not is the imbalance of the enemy AI. While some of their traits make them immortal, with other traits they behave as if they were walking in the park. In one mission they’re John Wick and in another, they’re like Sleepy Smurf from the 90s.

The goal of this mod is to eliminate these imbalances. This mod was developed by user khaosmaou and fixes a lot of things, here are the most noticeable changes:

  • Damage – Weapon Balance: High-caliber weapons do more damage to unarmored units, while small-caliber weapons do less damage to heavily armored units. This fix is available for both the friendly units and the enemies.
  • Enemy AI Improvements: Improves some areas where the AI falls short in the vanilla version. For example, enemies move faster and smarter, react faster behind the door, and remember your position longer.
  • Enemy AI Experience: Young suspects have lower accuracy, while others may have higher accuracy. They’ll be better in areas that require experience, such as finding cover, reacting to bombs, and following sounds.

You can read all of the mod’s features by going to its page. To sum up, if you’re not satisfied with Ready or Not’s AI, you will be happy with this mod until an official update comes. From our experience, we can say that this mod deals with issues quite well.

SWAT 4 Voice Overhaul

Well – guess you can’t be surprised that there will be such a mod at all. If you want to put Ready or Not, the spiritual successor to SWAT 4, in a more nostalgic mood, this great mod will come to your rescue.

With this mod, you can replace almost all voiceovers in the game with SWAT 4 sounds. Developed by s1nk0, this sound package really works flawlessly. With sounds that make all the maps look like 2005 at once, you’ll experience the peak of tactical FPS all over again.

Not really a gameplay mod but it will immerse you even more in the game and will affect the overall feel of playing Ready or Not. So it’s definitely worth your time.
