Players generally want to know how to get Thorn in Destiny 2 for one of two reasons. Either they want it for the Crucible, or they’re Warlocks that want it for its synergy with Necrotic Grips. Either way, they need a Thorn, but Destiny 2 doesn’t exactly tell them how to get one. Well, that’s what we’re here for.
We’re going to run you through how to get Thorn in Destiny 2. It’s a super easy process. There are no annoying quest steps, and unlike everything else in Destiny 2 – it doesn’t rely on RNG. Thorn is a phenomenal weapon in the right hands, and the right hands are yours. So, stop depriving yourself and go get one.
Destiny 2: How to Get Thorn
The only way to get Thorn in Destiny 2 is to buy it from the Exotic Kiosk in the Tower – next to the Vaults. Thorn is in the list of Forsaken Exotics available for purchase and will cost you:
- 1 Exotic Cipher
- 125,000 Glimmer
- 200 Dusklight Shards
- 1 Ascendant Shard
The hardest of all those materials to obtain will be the Dusklight Shards. If you don’t have 200 of them, wait until Master Rahool is selling them and buy a bunch. The Ascendant Shard comes from the Season Pass, Master Nightfalls, or from the three core playlist vendors. Your Exotic Cipher will have to come by way of Xur, and you shouldn’t need us to tell you how to earn Glimmer.
Get all of that material together, and you’ll be able to buy Thorn from the Exotic Kiosk in the Tower. Thorn has a robust history and lore behind it – so much so that it was earned through a quest back in Forsaken. That quest has long since been sunset, though.
Now, purchasing it is the only way to get your hands on one. It’s a shame, but at least it’s easy to get now. Yet it’s not the only exotic that is worth having in your arsenal. Here are a few more:
