Fishing in Genshin Impact allows you to unlock a bunch of good rewards. For example, there’s The Catch polearm which is great for someone like Xiangling. However, fish is not infinite in your world. Once you’ve caught everything that swims in Genshin Impact, you need to wait some time for the fish to respawn.
Fish Respawn Time in Genshin Impact
There are 23 fish varieties in multiple fishing spots across the world of Genshin Impact, but all of them have the same respawn time. Once you complete a fishing spot in Genshin Impact, you need to wait three days for the fish to respawn.
You can also fish in regular water without targeting a fishing spot. But you will barely be able to catch anything valuable or specific you need. If you are hunting for a certain fish variety. It’s best to target Fishin Spots where your desired fish swims.
How to Fish Faster
If you want to fish a bit faster, there are a few tricks that can come in handy and speed up the process.
Switch Between Day and Night
Not many know, but each fishing spot has a different pool of fish depending on whether it is day or night. Some fish even, only appear during the night. But to put it simply, you get double the fishing spots and double the chances of getting the desired fish.
To switch between day and night fast-forward the time using the in-game time-passing tool. It can be found by pressing “Esc” (on PC) and selecting the clock icon in the overlay menu on the left. The fish switch on Sunrise and Sunset so set your target time accordingly.
Fish in Other Players’ Worlds
Another thing that you can do to fish faster is to jump into other players’ worlds. It can be either your friend or someone random that you find on the players’ list.
To find players to join, click on the network icon left of the minimap (looks like a radar) and then scroll through the list of players and press “Request to join” on the left.
If they accept the request and you load into their world, be nice, and make sure that the player whose world you just barged into is okay with you borrowing a bit of their fish.
