The Sims 4 can be a chaotic time, especially if you start a fire and let your Sims deal with it. Knowing how to start a fire is important, especially if you feel like stirring things up. Here’s how you start a fire in The Sims 4.
Create the Fire Hazard Yourself
You’ve got several options in regard to how and where you want to start your fire in The Sims 4. You can use a fireplace if you feel like being the one who is responsible for a raging fire.
To start a fire with a fireplace, you’ll have to place the fireplace next to some flammable objects. This could be furniture, books, or rugs that can be placed right under the fireplace. Once you’ve placed it, you should see results soon.
Set Up Your Sim(s) to Fail
Another way to start a fire is to create a useless Sim and have them try to cook on a cheap stove. When you start a new game, you can choose to have a furnished home for your new Sims right out of the gate. Every appliance will be very standard and cheap, making them likely to malfunction when used by a Sim.
Knowing that your next step would be to have a low-stat, poorly skilled Sim try and cook. Chances are that they’ll start a fire and the flames will spread right away. Keep in mind that aside from endangering any Sims in the immediate area, the fire will traumatize them as well.
If you have a Sim put out a fire themselves, it’ll improve their mood and make them likely to succeed in whatever they’re up to in the day.
For the best results, make sure your Sim that will start the fire has the Clumsy trait. If they’re Clumsy, they’re more likely to fail at simple tasks like cooking and repairing things. Clumsy Sims are a maelstrom of chaos, as they are capable of destroying everything that they interact with.
