To deal weed in The Sims 4, you’ll first have to cure it. There’s no better way to move away from the wholesome family-raising normality of The Sims, and make some money while doing so.
For the purposes of this guide, we’ll be using the popular Basemental Drugs mod, as it’s the most popular way to add drugs to The Sims 4.
Preparing Weed for Curing
Before you can cure weed, you’ll need to gather some seeds and cultivate them into full buds.
To buy seeds, you’ll first need to buy a Planter Box in buy mode. Place the Planter Box in your Sim’s house and interact with it, then choose to buy the Cannabis Seeds Package.
Once you have cannabis seeds, plant them in the soil on your Planter Box. You’ll now have to care for them as if you would a regular plant. This mostly involves watering them daily, though you may also have to weed them sometimes to keep them healthy.
How to Cure Weed
Once your cannabis plants begin sparkling, you can begin the curing process:
- First, harvest your fully grown plants,
- Then buy an Empty Weed Jar in buy mode.
You’ll need 15 uncured buds of the same strain in your Sim’s inventory before you can cure them. If you don’t have enough, buy more seeds from your planter box and continue cultivating.
Once you have 15 or more uncured buds, click on the empty jar and select ‘Cure Weed’. You’ll now have to wait 48 hours of in-game time for the weed to cure.
While you don’t have to keep the jar in your Sim’s inventory during this period, it makes sense to, as this will grant your Sim a buff and notify you when the curing process is complete.
Once the curing is complete, open the jar to move the cured weed into a ziplock bag ready for dealing or smoking.
